It is no longer sufficient to simply be a smart attorney. You must be as comfortable marketing and selling as you are practicing law. Develop your practice by choice, not chance. If your goal is to be a rainmaker and grow a profitable practice, it is time to develop your plan. You are in full control of what does and does not happen in your practice. Success is not promised to any of us, but it is available to all of us. Contrary to popular belief, there is no personality type or gender that makes a good rainmaker. There is also no single approach or method that makes rainmaking easier. However, there is a common thread that ties the rainmakers whom I know and have worked with together. They were bold and brave, driven and decisive, committed and consistent. They were ready to stop making excuses and start making rain.
